About Dr. David Simpson
I hold a B.S. degree in physics from Virginia Tech, an M.S. in applied physics and an M.S. in applied mathematics from the Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. in applied physics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I have taught physics as an adjunct faculty member at Prince George's Community College since 1991.During the day, I work a research physicist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, doing research in space physics (the physics of the electromagnetic and plasma environments of the Earth, Sun, planets, and interplanetary space). I previously worked on the Hubble Space Telescope, and now work primarily on NASA's Cassini and Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission spacecraft.
